- Representative to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 Working Group (since 2024).
- Representative for the Sea Ice Biota Expert Network of the Circumpolar Biodiversity Monitoring Program, Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (Arctic Council) — ten years.
- Twice co-chaired the Tvärminne Symposium on Polar Microbes and Viruses, connecting early-career and senior researchers.
- Organizer, Insight Workshops on Creative Decolonization in the Sciences and on Neurodiversity in the Sciences (2024).
- Community co-development workshops with Inuit, First Nations, and Métis partners (e.g., Chesterfield Inlet), and Canadian Science Advisory Secretariat panel on natural attenuation of oil.
- Instructor in the Bioinformatics Virtual Coordination Network — 'Introduction to Metagenomics' lectures and tutorials viewed 2,000+ times.
- Mentor with the Verna J. Kirkness STEM camp and the Manitoba Indigenous Science and Engineering Fair, supporting Indigenous high-school scholars.
